Status Log Dialog

When you click the Finish button to perform either an Import from External Format or an Export to External Format, a Status Log dialog opens to display the progress of the import or export. The Import from External Format Status Log opens during the import from external format process, and the Export to External Format Status Log opens during the export to external format process.

When the import or export has completed, you can either click Close to close the Status Log dialog, or you can click Save Log to save the status log file to the default location. You set the default location for saved status log files in the Diagnostics tab of the Options dialog, which is opened by selecting Options from the Tools menu.

Publish a Model to erwin Web Portal

You can now publish your models to a web portal using the Web Portal, Publish menu option. When you publish a model to a web portal, many users can view models, manage the metadata, and trace the lineage of models. To view models in a web portal, users do not need to install erwin DM.

To publish a model to a web portal

  1. Click the Windows Start menu, All Programs, Meta Integration, Server Restart.

    The erwin Web Portal service starts.

  2. Open erwin® Data Modeler and click File, Web Portal, Publish.

    The Export to External Format dialog opens and displays the Destination page. erwin Web Portal is selected for the Type field and the field is disabled.

  3. Enter the password for the web portal in the User password field.
  4. If you want to publish the model to a specific configuration in the repository, enter the name in the Repository configuration path field.

    Note: The configuration name that you enter here must be created in the Repository pane in the portal.

  5. Click Finish.

    The model is published and the export log appears.

  6. Log in to erwin Web Portal (http://localhost:19980/MM/). Navigate to the configuration to which the model is published, right-click and click Open.

    The model appears as read-only in a new tab.
