Define Index Members

Use the Members tab in the Table Index Editor to select columns within a table and assign them to an index. Key groups that you create in the logical model become indexes in the physical model. By default, the columns in each foreign key index include all of the columns that are migrated from the same table. If a table includes foreign key columns from two different parent tables, two foreign key indexes, one for each parent table, are created.

To define index members

1. Right-click the index in the Model Explorer for which you want to define index members and click Properties.

   The Table Index Editor opens.

2. Click the Members tab and define index members. Select a check box for each column to include as an index member. Use the Sort Order drop-down to specify whether to sort in ascending or descending order.
3. Click Close.

   The index members are defined and the Table Index Editor closes.
