Use the General tab in the Oracle Synonym editor to define general properties for a model-level synonym such as object name and owner, and to define a database link for the synonym.
The following describes the options available for this tab:
Select this check box if this is a public synonym. Every user in the database can access a public synonym.
Enter information for the following:
Enter the synonym property object name.
Enter the synonym property object owner.
Select an Oracle database link from the drop-down list, or click the 
button to open the Oracle Database Link Editor where you can create a new database link.
