Merge Two Independent erwin® Data Modeler Models

Workgroup members can save independent copies of workgroup models and then merge the models together.

To merge two independent erwin® Data Modeler models

  1. Click Complete Compare on the Actions menu.

    The Complete Compare Wizard Right Model Selection dialog appears. Your open model is selected as the "Right Model" by default.

  2. Click the Left Model pane and select the model to compare. Use the other options in the Complete Compare wizard to set the compare level and filter by objects for either model. In the Compare Level group, select Logical Level or Physical Level. Click Compare.

    The compare process starts.

  3. Click Resolve Differences to compare the two models and resolve the specific model objects to be merged. Click Automatic to immediately merge the models. You can resolve matching entity names that exist in the current model and other model.

    The Resolve Differences dialog appears. Use features in the Resolve Differences dialog to compare and reconcile any detected differences between the models.

  4. Click Finish.

    The models are merged. Your models remain open in the workspace for additional editing or changes. Save the models before ending your modeling session.
