Define a DB2 z/OS Auxiliary Table

You define an auxiliary table to store LOB data type. You can define a DB2 z/OS auxiliary table on the Auxiliary tab of the Column editor.

To define a DB2 z/OS auxiliary table

1. Right-click a DB2 z/OS table and select Column Properties from the drop-down list.

   The DB2 z/OS Table Column Editor opens.

2. Click the Auxiliary tab and click New on the toolbar.

   Note: You can use the Auxiliary tab only if LOB is selected in the Physical Data Type column.

3. Click the Auxiliary Table Editor icon on the toolbar.

   The DB2 for z/OS Column Auxiliary Table Editor dialog opens.

4. Work with the following options:

   Name

   Specifies the name of the auxiliary table.

   Schema

   Specifies the schema to associate with the auxiliary table. Select a schema from the drop-down list.

   In Database

   Specifies the database for the auxiliary table. Select a database from the drop-down list.

   In Tablespace

   Specifies the tablespace for the auxiliary table. Select a tablespace from the drop-down list.

   Partition Element

   Specifies partition elements to associate with the auxiliary table. Select a partition element from the drop-down list.

   Append

   Specifies whether or not the appending process is used for the table.

   Label

   Specifies the description of the table.

   Generate

   Generates DDL for this object during Forward Engineering.

5. Click the Index tab and specify an index to associate with the selected auxiliary table; open the Index Editor and set index properties.
6. Click the Permission tab and define permissions for the selected auxiliary table.
7. (Optional) Click the Comment tab and enter any comments that you want to associate with the object.
8. (Optional) Click the UDP tab to work with user-defined properties for the object.
9. (Optional) Click the Notes tab to view and edit user notes.
10. Click Close.

    The Auxiliary Table Editor closes.
