Define DB2 LUW Users

You use the DB2 for LUW User Id Editor to define database users and their respective properties in a DB2 physical model.

To define DB2 users

  1. Right-click a User Id in the Model Explorer and select Properties.

    The DB2 for LUW User Id Editor opens.

  2. Select a User Id and work with the following options:

    Note: Click New New icon in property editors to create a new object on the toolbar to create a User Id.

    Name

    Specifies the name of the user id.

    Is User Group

    Specifies that the selected user id is a user group.

  3. Click the Role tab and work with the following options:
    Role

    Specifies the database role of the user ID. Select the check box, or click the Database Role Editor icon (icon) to create a role.

    With Admin Option

    Specifies whether or not the selected role has administrative privileges. Select the check box.

  4. Click the Permission tab and grant permissions to users or user groups on the selected user ID.
  5. (Optional) Click the Comment tab and enter any comments that you want to associate with the object.
  6. (Optional) Click the Where Used tab to view where the object is used within the model.
  7. (Optional) Click the UDP tab to work with user-defined properties for the object.
  8. (Optional) Click the Notes tab to view and edit user notes.
  9. (Optional) Click the Extended Notes tab to view or edit user notes.
  10. Click Close.

    The DB2 for LUW User Id Editor closes.
