Spatial Index Properties

The following describes new or changed properties in the property editor and related information.

• SQL Azure does not support the following arguments and options with the CREATE SPATIAL INDEX statement:
  • ON Keyword for:
    • partition_schema_name
    • filegroup name
    • default
  • relational_index_option
    • PAD_INDEX
    • FILLFACTOR
    • SORT_IN_TEMPDB
    • ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS
    • ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS
    • MAXDOP
  • Backward-compatible relational index

The following describes the impacts on the SQL Azure Table Spatial Index Editor as compared to the SQL Server 2008 Table Spatial Index Editor:

• In the Navigation Grid, the Filegroup property was removed.
• On the General tab, the only available properties in the SpatialIndex Options section are No Recompute and Drop Existing.
