Specify DB2 z/OS Using Clause Parameters
When your target server is DB2, you can work with options on the Using Clause tab on the Index or Tablespace editor to specify additional storage parameters in the Using Clause of the CREATE INDEX or TABLESPACE statement in the schema.
To specify DB2 z/OS Using Clause parameters
- Click the Using Clause tab in the Index or Tablespace editor and work with the following options:
- Using Specification
Work with the following components for the USING specification:
- Volume Catalog
Specifies the name for a user-managed data set.
- Storage Group
Specifies the storage group to use. Select a storage group name from the drop-down list.
- Primary Space Allocation
Specifies the minimum primary space allocation for a DB2-managed data set. Enter an integer in the text box.
- Secondary Space Allocation
Specifies the minimum secondary space allocation for a DB2 managed data set. Enter an integer in the text box.
- Erase When Deleted
Specifies that the DB2-managed data set is erased when deleted during the execution of a utility or a SQL statement that drops the index.
- Free Specification
Work with the following options for free specification:
- Free Page Interval (FREEPAGE)
Specifies how often to leave a page of free space when index entries are created. Enter an integer in the text box.
- Percent Free (PCTFREE)
Specifies the percentage of each index or tablespace to leave as free space. Enter a value in the text box.
- Gbpcache Specification
Specify the following group bufferpool option:
- Group Bufferpool Type
Specifies the group bufferpool type. Select a value from the drop-down list; valid values are Changed, All, None, or System.
Note: When you are working on the Index Editor, you cannot select System as a value for the Group Bufferpool Type field.
- Work with other options in the editor or click Close to save your selections and close the editor.
