Assign Relationship UDP Values in a Physical Model
After you add UDPs for a relationship in the User-Defined Properties : Physical editor, you can easily specify property values for the relationship in the UDP tab in the Relationships editor.
To assign relationship UDP values in the physical model
- Click Relationships on the Model menu.
The Relationships editor opens.
- Click the UDP tab.
The UDP tab opens.
- Click

The User Defined Properties : Physical dialog opens.
- Enter the user-defined property information in the following columns and click OK.
- Name
Lets you specify the name of the UDP.
- Type
Lets you specify the UDP datatype. Click the cell and select one of the following datatypes from the drop-down:
Command
Specifies to create a Command UDP that will launch a file or application.
Note: When you use the Command datatype for a user-defined property, the box where the property name appears becomes a button that you can click to launch the specified file or application.
Date
Specifies to create a Date UDP to allow dates in MM/DD/YYYY format.
Int
Specifies to create an Int UDP so you can enter an integer (whole number).
Real
Specifies to create a Real UDP so you can enter a real number (with decimal).
Text
Specifies to create a Text UDP so you can enter ASCII text.
List
Specifies to create a List UDP so you can create a list box with user-defined choices.
- Default
Lets you specify a UDP default value when applicable.
- Description
Lets you enter a description for the UDP.
The UDP values are assigned, the User Defined Properties : Physical dialog closes, and you are returned to the UDP tab in the Relationships editor.
- Click OK.
The Relationships editor closes and you are returned to the workspace.
