DB2_Lock_Max (String property)

Defines the maximum number of page, row, or LOB locks an application process can simultaneously hold in the tablespace. Locks are escalated when a program requests more than the specified maximum number. The lock escalation results in the page, row, or LOB locks being released and the intent lock on the tablespace being promoted to S or X mode. Defining LOCKMAX for a tablespace in a TEMP database results in DB2 ignoring the value because these types of locks are not used. Applications that use Sysplex query parallelism have a lock count maintained on each member.

Note: If the locksize is TABLESPACE or TABLE, you must omit LOCKMAX or its operand must be 0.
