Subtype_Symbol (object)

Refers to the visual symbol that you see in erwin DM that represents a generalization, or subtyping, relationship. A subtype relationship connects an entity that defines the category with entities that define each of the members of the category. The metadata defines subtype relationships using pairs of relationships to connect the category entity to the member entity, with the Subtype Symbol object in the middle. For example, a subtype relationship from entity E/1 to entity E/2 would be represented in the model as a relationship from E/1 to the subtype symbol, and then a second relationship from the subtype symbol to E/2.
