Define Teradata Profiles
You can use the Teradata Profile Editor to create a new profile that defines system parameters that a group of users can share in a Teradata physical model.
To define a Teradata profile
- Click Target-Teradata, Profiles on the Model menu.
The Teradata Profile Editor opens.
- Select a profile and work with the following options:
Note: Click New
on the toolbar to create a new profile. Use the Enter filter text text box to filter a very large list of profiles to quickly locate the one you want to work with.
- Name
Specifies the name of the profile.
- Default Database
Specifies the Teradata database that this profile belongs to.
- Generate
Generates DDL for this object during Forward Engineering.
- Complete the following fields on the General tab:
- Spool
Specifies the number of bytes for the spool files.
- Temporary
Specifies the number of storage bytes allocated for temporary tables.
- Cost profile
Specifies the cost profile.
Note: This property does not apply to Teradata 2.6.
- Work with the other tabs in the editor to access additional design features, for example:
- (Optional) Click the Comment tab and enter any comments that you want to associate with the object.
- (Optional) Click the UDP tab to work with user-defined properties for the object.
- (Optional) Click the Notes tab to view and edit user notes.
- Click Close.
The Teradata Profile Editor closes.
