Define Teradata Permissions
You can use the Teradata Permission Editor to add and define permissions at the server level in a Teradata physical model.
To define Teradata permissions
- Click Target-Teradata, Permissions on the Model menu.
The Teradata Permission Editor opens.
- Select a permission and work with the following options:
Note: Click New
on the toolbar to create a new permission. Use the Enter filter text text box to filter a very large list of permissions to quickly locate the one you want to work with.
- Name
Specifies the name of the permission.
- With Grant
Lets the user grant this permission to another user.
- Work with the following fields on the General tab:
- Permissions to Grant
Specifies the permissions that are allowed.
- All
Specifies to select all permissions and disable the Detailed Permissions section.
- All Except
Specifies to allow all permissions except the ones that are being selected.
- Permission Category
Specifies the category of permissions to display in the Permissions list. Select from the drop-down list. Valid values are Monitor Permissions, Server Permissions, and UDT Permissions.
You can use the icons at the top of the section to select all permissions, select none, and toggle selected and unselected permissions.
- Principals to Grant
Specifies the principals to grant. Work with the following options in this section:
- Sort
Sorts the principals in alphabetical or reverse-alphabetical order.
- Database Editor
Opens the Teradata Database Editor.
- User Editor
Opens the Teradata User ID Editor.
- Role Editor
Opens the Teradata Database Role Editor.
- Principals
Specifies the principals available in the model. Select the check box to include the permission for the principal.
- Type
Specifies the type of object of the principal. This is a read-only column.
- Apply to All Recipient Ownees
Specifies whether you want to apply the permission to all recipient ownees of the principal. Select the check box to apply.
- (Optional) Click the Comment tab and enter any comments that you want to associate with the object.
- (Optional) Click the UDP tab to work with user-defined properties for the object.
- (Optional) Click the Notes tab to view and edit user notes.
- Click Close.
The Teradata Permission Editor closes.
