Define Db2 z/OS Table Partition Elements
Use the options in the Table Partition Elements Editor to set properties for a table partition.
To define Db2 z/OS table partition elements
- Click the Partitions tab in the Db2 z/OS Table Editor.
Two panes display the available partition columns, and the partition elements.
- Click the Partition Element Editor icon in the Partition Elements pane.
The Db2 for z/OS Table Partition Elements Editor opens.
- Work with the following options:
- Name
Specifies the name of the partition.
- Partition Number
Specifies the partition number.
- Hash Size
Specifies the amount of fixed hash space to preallocate for the table partition.
- Data Unit
Specifies that data unit to be used for the specified hash size.
- K: Multiplies hash size by 1024 to specify the it in bytes.
- M: Multiplies hash size by 1,048,576 to specify it in bytes.
- G: Multiplies hash size by 1,073,741,824 to specify it in bytes.
- Is Ending Value Excluded
Specifies whether or not the ending value is excluded in the partition.
- Click the Boundaries tab and work with the following options:
- Name
Specifies a name for the partition boundary.
- Partition Column
Specifies the column participating in the partition. This field is read-only and is based on the columns you have selected in the Partition tab of the Db2 Table Editor.
- Ending Value Type
Specifies the type of the ending value. Select from the drop-down list; valid values are, min value and max value.
- Ending Value
Specifies the last value in the partition.
- (Optional) Click the Commenttab and enter any comments that you want to associate with the object.
- (Optional) Click the Where Used tab to view where the object is used within the model.
- (Optional) Click the UDPtab to work with user-defined properties for the object.
- (Optional) Click the Notestab to view and edit user notes.
- (Optional) Click the Extended Notes tab to view or edit user notes.
- Click Close.
The Table Partition Element Editor closes.
