Define a Db2 LUW Database Partition
Use the options in the Db2 for LUW Database Partition Editor to set properties for a database partition. You can then assign database partitions to a group in the Db2 for LUW Database Partition Group Editor.
To define a Db2 LUW database partition
- Right-click a Database Partition Group in the Model Explorer and select Properties.
The Db2 for LUW Database Partition Editor opens.
- Select a database partition name and work with the following options:
Click New
on the toolbar to create a database partition. Use the Enter filter text text box to filter a large list of names to locate the one you want to work with.
- Name
Specifies the database partition name.
- Partition Number
Specifies the partition number.
- Click the General tab to work with the following properties:
- Port Number
Specifies the port number. Enter an integer in the text box.
- Communication Switch Name
Specifies the communication switch name. Enter a name in the text box.
- (Optional) Click the Where Used tab to review where the selected database partition is used.
- (Optional) Click the Extended Notes tab to view or edit user notes.
- Click Close.
The Db2 for LUW Database Partition Editor closes.
Define a Db2 LUW Bufferpool Partition Exception
Use the Db2 for LUW Bufferpool editor to work with the properties for Db2 LUW Bufferpools. The Bufferpool Partition Exceptions tab lets you define the bufferpool partitions for which the bufferpool size is different.
Follow these steps:
- Right-click a Bufferpool in the Model Explorer and select Properties.
The Db2 LUW Bufferpool Editor opens.
- Go to the Bufferpool Partition Exceptions tab and work with the following options:
- Name
Specifies a name for the bufferpool partition exception that you want to use.
- Pages in Bufferpool
Specifies the size of the bufferpool, in terms of pages.
- Database Partition
Specifies the database partition for which the bufferpool size is different.
