Set Default Options

Use the Default dialog to set global defaults for ER diagrams and projects for all modeling sessions.

To set default display options, follow these steps:

1. On the ribbon, click Tools > Options.

   The Options dialog box opens.

2. Click the Default tab and work with following options:

   Display Shadows

   Select this check box to display the shadow effect for entities, tables, and views in the diagram..

   Show Attributes as Grid

   Select this check box to display the attributes or columns in the diagram as grid.

   Display Column Null Option

   Select this check box to display relationship null values for columns and entities in the diagram.

   Display Physical Data Type

   Select this check box to the physical data type of objects in the diagram.

To set default project options, follow these steps:

1. On the ribbon, click Tools > Options.

   The Options dialog box opens.

2. Click the Default tab and work with following options:

   Demand Loading

   Select this check box to load only the project metadata and leave the models unloaded when opening a project.

   Save All models without message

   Select this check box to save the project models without a confirmation prompt upon closing the project.
