Defining Teradata Profiles

The following properties are applicable to a Teradata Profile object.

  Name Specifies the name of the profile  
  Default Database Specifies the Teradata database to which the profile belongs  
  Generate Specifies whether a DDL statement is generated during forward engineering  
General Spool Specifies the storage space (in bytes) for the spool files  
Temporary Specifies the storage space (in bytes) allocated for temporary tables  
Cost Profile Specifies the cost profile  
Query_Band Specifies a query band with name-value pairs to the profile  
Default Specifies whether all the values in the query band are considered as default values

Yes: Indicates that all values are considered default values which can be overwritten

Not: Indicates that the values are not considered as default and overwriting is not permitted
Ignore Query_Band Values Specifies a query band of name-value pairs to ignore if specified in a SET QUERY_BAND statement for all users assigned the profile  
Transform Specifies the user-defined transform associated with the object  
Default Map Type Specifies whether a default map is associated to the database

Map Name: Indicates that an existing map is associated to the database

Null: Indicates that a default map is not associated to the database
Override Specifies whether to use the default map when an error occurs with the MAP clause in the statement

On Error: Indicates that the default map is used

Not On Error: Indicates that the default map is not used

Specifies the accounts assigned to the profile

Specifies the special characters required or allowed in the passwords

 

Allow Username in Password

Specifies whether the passwords can include usernames

 

Require Mixed Case Password

Specifies whether the passwords require mixed alphabet cases

 

Require Alpha Characters in Password

Specifies whether the passwords must contain alphabetic characters

 

Special Characters in Password

Specifies whether special characters are allowed or required in a password string

No: Indicates that special characters are not allowed in the passwords

Yes: Indicates that special characters are allowed in the passwords

Required: Indicates that special characters are required in the passwords

Password Digits Required

Specifies whether at least one digits are allowed or required in a password string

No: Indicates that digits are not allowed in the passwords

Yes: Indicates that digits are allowed in the passwords

Required: Indicates that at least one digit must appear in the password string

Password Expire

Specifies the number of days to elapse before the password expires

 

Password Min Char

Specifies the minimum number of characters in a password string

 

Password Max Char

Specifies the maximum number of characters in a password string

 

Password Max Logon Attempts

Specifies the number of invalid login attempts before locking the user account

 

Password Reuse

Specifies the number of days to elapse before a password can be reused

 

Allow Restricted Words for Password

Specifies restricted words are allowed in the password.

 

Password Lock User Expire

Specifies the time (in minutes) before unlocking a locked user account
