Change the Mart Database Server

Sometimes, you may change the server on which the mart database is installed, or you may restore the mart database with a new name. When there is a change the server name or database name, reconfigure the erwin Mart Portal.

To change your mart database server, follow these steps:

1. Back up your mart database.
2. Restore the database on the designated server.
3. If you use the same computer for erwin Mart Portal and restore the database in a different name, include the new database name in the erwin Mart Portal Configuration screen.

   From the Windows Start menu, open the erwin Mart Configuration dialog. On the Database tab > Database Name field, enter the new name with which the database is restored. Enter the current user name and password to access the database.

4. If you use a different computer for erwin Mart Portal and restore the database in the same name, install the erwin Mart Portal on the new computer.

   Install the erwin Mart Portal. On the Database tab > Server Name field, enter the name of the new server where the database is restored. Enter the current user name and password to access the database.

5. Stop the erwin Mart Portal service and start it again.
6. On the Windows Start Menu, click erwin > erwin Mart Portal.

   Enter the credentials and log in.
