Specify Options for a Teradata Index
Use features on the Options tab of the Teradata Table Index or Teradata Join Index editors to specify if the index is a primary or secondary index, and additional options.
To specify options for a Teradata index
- Right-click an index and select Index Properties.
The Teradata Table Index Editor opens.
- Click the Options tab and work with the following options:
- Constraint Name
Specifies the constraint name associated with the table index.
- Is Unnamed
Lets you select if Forward Engineering is to emit the name of the object.
- Order By
Specifies how the rows are ordered. Select from the drop-down list. Valid values are: Hash or Value.
- Generate As Constraint
Specifies whether to generate the table index as a constraint.
- Partition Expression
Specifies the expression used to partition the primary index. This property is enabled only if the index is defined as the primary index.
- Click Close.
The Teradata Table Index Editor closes.
