MELVILLE, N.Y., and CHICAGO – June 10, 2020 – erwin, Inc., the data governance company, and Mikan Associates, the data, analytics, AI solutions and consulting services company, today announced a strategic partnership to help their clients increase speed to business insights through adoption of an agile platform and processes to govern their data assets.

The companies are currently working with several mid-market financial services, healthcare, education and aggregation organizations to modernize the way they govern their data assets.

The client also needed data lineage to view the connections between all relevant data sources and outputs, as well as impact analysis to help manage frequent changes to its multiple data sources. In addition, integration with the firm’s chosen data integration and analytics platforms was also critical.

The partnership involves a new native integration with erwin Data Modeler (erwin DM) to automate the design, analysis and deployment of Snowflake, as well as an erwin Data Connector for automatically extracting Snowflake metadata for ingestion into the erwin Data Intelligence Suite (erwin DI).

The erwin Data Connector for Snowflake automatically scans and ingests metadata from Snowflake platforms into erwin DI, enabling data mapping to and from Snowflake databases to generate data movement code, lineage and impact analysis. And because erwin DM and erwin DI are integrated, there’s a complete picture of physical, semantic and business metadata in every Snowflake instance, and the creation and association of terms within the business glossary can be accelerated.
